CBAA Email Lists

Update (1/26/2008): Effective immediately, the mailing lists have been consolidated into two separate lists, cbaa-announce and cbaa-discussion.

No user action is necessary.

Subscribers who were members of cbaa-chat and above (discussion, announce, and headline-news) are now members of both lists. Subscribers of cbaa-announce and cbaa-headline-news are now part of cbaa-announce.

Update (12/06/2007): All majordomo lists have been moved to Mailman. See below for instructions on how to un/subscribe

[The following is no longer sent upon subscribing, but is here for reference]

DESCRIPTION OF CBAA ELECTRONIC MAIL LISTS

APPROPRIATE POSTING MATERIAL

"cbaa-announce" is a moderated list meant for Cal Band-related or Cal Band Alumni Association-related announcements that every alumni band member may be interested in. (For example, alumni band performance information, CBAA council meeting notes, Reunion announcements, etc.). All messages sent to "cbaa-announce" must be approved by a CBAA Administrator. Send your message per the below instructions and if approved, it will be forwarded to the people subscribed to cbaa-announce.

"cbaa-discussion" is a non-moderated list meant for discussions about the Cal Band, Cal Band Alumni Association, SMA, other band related items, etc. (For example, Cal Band stories/history, SMA-sponsored concerts, Solano Winds concerts, Band YouTube links, etc.). All messages sent to "cbaa-discussion" will automatically post IF the "from" address is subscribed to the list. Otherwise, the message must be approved by a CBAA Administrator. Please make an effort to remember which email address you have subscribed with, otherwise there may be a long delay before your message is sent out to the list.

PLEASE NOTE: NONE of these lists are appropriate for messages that would violate the use policies of UC Berkeley, state law, or federal regulations. Examples include: chain letters, harrassing mail, pornography, etc. Sending inapropriate material may result in removal from lists and referral to the proper authorities.

The current Computer Use Policy for UC Berkeley and UC Electronic Communication Policy are available at the following addresses:
